Climate Crisis

If you look at the conflicting headlines, for each fundamental question on climate change, you can find two completely opposite answers. Depending on whom you choose to believe, you may be quite skeptical about the reality of the crisis or aching for solutions to be implemented with a greater sense of urgency.

If you belong to the second category, you may also find yourself in information overload – with lots of facts in your head but never quite able to mobilize the right one when an objection is thrown your way in the middle of a heated discussion…

Objections come in many different shapes and forms but, when you look closely, I believe they can be boiled down to three main categories.

The first big category questions the very existence of global warming.

You can’t get more skeptical than that! This first video looks at the science of the greenhouse effect and organizes for you the arguments that will become handy when you encounter this type of objections …

What typically comes next are objections which question mankind’s responsibility in the whole deal.

This second video looks at the arguments, which lead to the conclusion that indeed, temperature increase is due to human activities.

Finally – if global warming is real and man-made – the next legitimate category of objections will question the actual severity of the climate crisis.

How bad can it really be to add a few degrees to earth’s surface temperature? This last video gives some pointers.

For the skeptics we have left unconvinced on climate change, it is now time to steer the discussion towards energy .
